I’ve stopped in for lunch more than once since after reading a lot of good things about these guys and what their take on what a great sandwich is and I must say that I think I agree!. This isn’t your typical sandwich joint~they’re offering a great sandwich with ingredients that go very well together that I haven’t seen any place else.
I’m not one for spicy foods and cilantro isn’t one of my favorite herbs so I was kinda scared of what my 1st bite of my pork sandwich was going to taste like on my first visit~well it was pretty kick ass and addicting!, the pickled jalapeno’s, cilantro and roasted onions combined with the garlic mayo were all a great compliment to the 36 hour marinated, slow roasted shredded pork, I also added a quinoa salad was a great addition and packed with fresh veggies and nice vinaigrette. All the proteins offered (pork, chicken, shrimp, turkey sausage and veggie) also come in a salad version and they also offer beers such as Red Truck. When you get your sandwich if you have never had one before listen to what they tell you~peel away the paper as you are eating your sandwich otherwise you’re gonna have a big mess!.
I will say that I’m already looking forward to my next meal at Hubbub and I think there a great addition to the downtown food scene and the wet-naps are pure genius!. When you look at the time put into the prep and quality of ingredients $13 with HST isn’t that bad for a great lunch in downtown Vancouver.
