True Confections has been one of the few places where you can get a solid dessert without having to go to a full restaurant. Specializing in cakes, pies and cheese cakes, True Confections servers up cakes from years past that just isn’t your typical chocolate cake or plain cheesecake. With 3 different locations around Vancouver the location closest to me is the one on Denman street and on this occasion I stopped in to grab some cake to have at home later.
The specialty here are mile high cakes that are huge, they also do full cakes for you to have at home but they aren’t on the grand scale like the eat in and take out slices of cake are like but they are just as good and worth the treat if you’re looking for a great cake with the homemade taste you can’t get at Safeway or Superstore.
What brought me in this day was their chocolate mud cake. It’s been on the menu since day one and is a dense, super moist chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache and was just what I was in the mood for.
