I love burgers and I love cheese so as visit to Au Petit Chavignol was a no brainer. With one half of the building being a cheese shop-Les Amis du Fromage, you can pick up anything your heart desires and then stop in for a bite at the restaurant next door. I’ve heard tons of amazing things about the burger here and that was the purpose of my visit.

It’s a classic combo that’s for sure, ground AAA beef chuck on a toasted Kaiser bun, secret sauce, pickle and a side of fries. My fries were beautifully crisp, seasoned nicely and because they use skin on potatoes another depth of flavor is definitely there. My one complaint was there could have been more fries and there were a good number of small “bitty” fries on my plate.

My burger was delicious creation. You get your choice of 3 different cheese’s, The name of the one I chose is slipping my mind right now but it was like a cross between a Gouda and Swiss. The quality of the meat really shines through (since my visit they are now grinding their own meat so you can request a med rare burger). I liked the toppings and the secret sauce was a great touch. The bun was good but I found it to be way to big for the burger, a brioche bun would be a better choice in my eyes. Out of all the burgers I’ve had the one I had at Au Petit Chavignol is in the tip 3 that’s for sure.
I’m already looking forward to my next meal at Au Petit Chavignol, they have some great fondue and charcuterie plates.
