With this Street Food Friday post were taking a quick trip to France! One of the new food trucks to hit the streets this year (a month ago to be more exact) is Ze Bite. With delicious sandwiches and stews they’re offering you a taste of France in just on bite. Located at Cordova and Burrard it’s conveniently located near lots of places for you to enjoy your lunch, one of my big pet peeves are cart locations with no places to enjoy your food near by.

I had the intention of having a sandwich when I was on my way to the truck, as I was walking up to the truck I smelled a French classic dish that I knew I had to have so I scratched the sandwich.

Beef Bourguignon was the smell that drew me in, the aroma of red wine and beef is what sealed the deal for me. The other stews offered sounds really good as well but the cold, wet weather told me it’s a beef kinda day. It’s served on potatoes and runs $11, it’s the highest priced menu item and one thing I did wish was for the portion to be a bit bigger.

The stew was loaded with nice big chunks of melt in your mouth tender beef, carrots, mushrooms and potatoes. the flavor was spot on and excellent, if you’re a fan of beef stew this should not be missed. The seasoning was nice with the right balance of salt and pepper. The potatoes in the dish were stored in a separate hot container so they’re combined when you order your dish, thus there the perfect texture and hold together nicely.
It looks like Ze Bite is a solid option if you looking for authentic French influenced street food eats. I’d suggest checking the Street Food App for their schedule seeing there not open every day during the week, the app is available in the iTunes App store and Android Marketplace and all forms of payment are accepted at the truck.
