The Street Meet truck has really been a hit since they started serving up there Mediterranean inspired street eats menu to the hungry masses. They’ve been at the Yelp Food Cart Fest’s this summer at the Waldorf Hotel and a big hit with street food eaters.
I’ve had a couple great lunches from the truck when they first hit the streets and have been very impressed so far. Some of my favorite items have also been regulars favorites as well-the Pork Belly Bites and a sightly tweaked Crispy Risotto Balls with Truffle Aioli.
The latest item I’ve had and fell for has been there Seared Tuna Salad. The salad is a delish mix of new potatoes, black olives, pickled green beans, soft-boiled eggs, herb crusted seared tuna, cherry tomatoes and drizzled with a honey Dijon vinaigrette. For $12 it’s a perfect lunch if you’re looking for a delicious restaurant quality salad at a steal of a price.
The herb crusted seared tuna was absolutely delicious. The guy’s at Street Meet crust the tuna in tarragon and sear it to medium rare perfection, it melted in my mouth. The dressing had a great tang to it with a subtle sweetness from the honey.
The Tiramisu Sicilian style Cannoli’s are also not to be missed. For $4 you get 2 mascarpone cheese tiramisu filled cannoli’s that are some of the best, most decadent I’ve ever had.
If you find yourself at the Street Food Fest this weekend or near Burrard and Pender Street during the week I’d highly suggest hitting up the Street Meet truck for a delicious lunch.
