The VANEATS.ca crew has done it again and brought the hungry foodies of Vancouver an amazing deal at DD Mau Banh Mi Sandwiches with the Give Me Mau dining pass.
The package contains the following for $9.50:
- Grilled Lemongrass Chicken, 1/2 grilled chicken thighs + pickled veggies + cilantro + sweet-chili aioli jalapeno
- Crispy Roasted Pork, 1/2 crispy roasted pork + sautéed scallions + pickled veggies + cilantro + garlic aioli jalapeno
- Smoothie, your choice of avocado or honeydew
With bread that is soft on the inside and just crunchy enough outside and all those delicious pickled diakon, carrots and cucumbers it’s already a texture adventure then factor in the marinated lemongrass chicken and melt in your mouth pork belly with salty, crispy skin now were taking about a full-on adventure to Flavor Town! With the way the package is set up you get 2 of the most popular proteins, I’ve had the chicken before but this was the 1st time having the pork belly. The meat was really good and there were some great fatty pork pieces in my sandwich, I would have loved more of the crispy skin as it kind of got lost with the pickled vegetables.
For the drink choices Melissa had the smoothie pictured with the sandwich, she said that it was enjoyable with a great honeydew flavor. In the past I’ve had the avocado smoothie and have included a picture of it, if you have not had this before I’d recommend it. Flavor wise it’s creamy from the avocado and sweet from the almond milk.
The Give Me Mau dining package is a great deal for $9.50 and the perfect lunch for 1-one of the BEST deals in Yaletown right now I might just say. The dining packages are available October 29,2012 to February 28,2013 on the VANEATS.ca website, click here to get yours.
**Disclosure-This was another featured reviewers package (Melissa from Eye’s Bigger Than My Stomach) and I only ate 3/4 of the pork sandwich, I have bought my own dining package to use in the future from VANEATS.ca and was not expected to write this review-I did because it’s a killer deal !**
