The Raincity Grill~5 star Take Out

Living right by English Bay is a wonderful thing and stopping in at the Raincity Grill to grab the take out deal is one of my guilty pleasures and it’s gotta be one of the best deals in town.

For $10 you get line caught oceanwise fish of the day, today it was ling cod but I’ve had salmon and halibut in the past, for $10 you get 2 pieces of fish, fries, some lettuce lines the box but it’s not my favorite because the fish sits on top and wilt’s it, they used to have a house made coleslaw that was some of the best I’ve had anywhere but its discontinued

with its proximity to English Bay it’s a perfect deal to get and head over the beach and it’s a better deal than whats offered at the concession stands at Stanley Park.

the main event!

the fish is moist and tender, the batter is crispy and crunchy and comes out of a pressurized device like Starbucks uses for whipped cream so you get an unbelievably light batter that isn’t heavy in the slightest yet sturdy enough for dipping in the homemade tartar sauce~letting you know now get extra  for $1 each~its delish!, the fries are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside like great fries should be.

beer battered line caught ling cod

The fish is cooked for about 7-8 mins so you don’t have to wait for long and its dusted in sea salt as well as the fries

all the packaging is environmentally friendly and if you dine in electric and hybrid cars get free valet!

For some of the best fish and chips in the city you need to check out the Raincity Grill if your down by English Bay.
